Charged particle source produced by laser–plasma interaction in the relativistic regime

Abstract : Plasmas irradiated by an intense laser beam have recently been demonstrated to be sources for particles (electrons, ions, positrons). During this interaction, it has been found that these charged particles can be efficiently accelerated. An overview of these results as well as some perspectives are presented here.
